SeSco is currently screwed
Apologies to any who are trying to contact the Site Admin – we know you have emailed, but cannot currently respond.
I’m afraid it looks as if we have suffered a double-dose of ‘improvement’ at the hands of our various service providers.
First problem is a server move.
This was known to be happening at some time soon, but no date was available. This should be a non-event and largely transparent, but it looks as if the additional layer of security now employed against the constant attacks of ‘comment spammers’ is interfering, and the full 24 hours often specified for these changes to propagate may have to be allowed for. If that is all.
Unfortunately, there may be some configuration changes I need to make as well.
But, there is a ‘but’ involved with these, and I cannot access the required details!
Our service provider emailed certain details in advance of the move, as they may be required as the change takes place…
However… my email provider has chosen today to change the Terms & Conditions of their service, and has blocked access until users click on a box and agree to those new terms.
Problem:
Although I click on the box and it takes me to the front page of the mail system…
When I try to access any of the messages, all I get is the same box demanding I accept the new terms – and I am thrown back to the system front page when I click on the box.
This means I cannot access the email containing the new settings I may have to enter in other places to restore access to SeSco.
As noted above, we are screwed – I cannot access the new server, and I cannot access the details of the new server!
Currently out of ideas, as none of the broken bits are under my control, and those breaks are preventing me from gaining access to those bits that are.
More news if, as, and when I get anywhere.
No comments yet.
