Pitlochry Festival Theatre (Summer) 2014

It’s that time of year again, and the printed programme for Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s 2014 summer season has made its familiar ‘bump’ on the doormat after falling through the door.

This year’s titles include:

As well as the theatre itself, there is the Explorers Garden, and many other events take place at the theatre, such as workshops, concerts, tours and talks. It has its own Festival Restaurant, Café & Bar – A Room With A View.

Autumn Classic

While I didn’t spot anything in the Summer Season for 2014 that really caught my attention, I did note the advance notification of the Autumn Classic:

The Ladykillers

This is indeed the well-known classic Ealing Studios comedy from 1955, which will be given an entirely new lease of life at Pitlochry.

The Festival theatre will be staging the Scottish première production of this brilliant new/old comedy, and if it’s anything like the production they presented some years back, then this will be well worth the effort of making the trip.

While I haven’t made it back to Pitlochry for longer than I care to remember, I did find (another) well-framed shot that shows most of the building to good effect:
