On the bright side…
Since committed Trumptards (but not, apparently, the ones that are only in it for the money) are refusing vaccination, that 74 million plus number is at least falling.
I should have known better than to glance at ‘The Covidiot Times’ to see if things had got any better while I was diverted by my recent computer hiccups.
Not only no better, the crazies are getting even crazier in their efforts to deny the existence of the Covid-19 pandemic, and circumvent mask requirements.
I find it hard to believe anyone would actively fight against a simple measure intended to protect their lives (not to mention the lives of others, since masks are primarily intended to stop infection being spread FROM THE WEARER).
I’m beginning to imagine there’s a mad surgeon somewhere out there, with a big sign on their house reading “FREE LOBOTOMIES WHILE-U-WAIT“.
It doesn’t even have to leave a mark – no need to open the skull to get to their brains (unless these are too small to find) – just go in via the eye socket.

It’s even possible to do DIY lobotomies, using psychotropic drugs which can produce similar results without the need for any surgery at all.
When you read the following clips I found waiting for me, you’ll probably conclude these people have to be on drugs anyway, given their reactions to being asked to wear a mask, and what they think the sensible were going to do in response.
While I can understand a waste of skin ‘influencer’ risking other people’s lives to make some money and get free publicity, it’s harder to see why people who are supposedly elected representatives (shouldn’t that suggest they are responsible? Clearly not) would behave as if they were brain damaged.
That said, I especially like the result for the senator who has been banned from an airline.
Later stories reported that airline to be the ONLY ONE connecting to her destination – so her only way to get there is by car, and that’s apparently a 15-hour drive.

But for the potential tragedy they can mean for some, I really like coming across these occasional Covid-19 intelligence gems.
This one came with another gem in the comments, to the effect that someone wondered what the cleaning standards and hygiene was like in Dale’s Diner, if the owner didn’t believe in the pandemic.

Covid Denier Dies and Infects
These denier stories reminded of something I spotted while wandering around Ayr yesterday.
A number of stickers had been placed on items such as gateposts on the entrances to parks, and street furniture such as lighting control boxes.
Although not specific to Covid-19, they were statements warning people that did NOT believe any of the various Conspiracy Theories being spouted at the moment that they would soon be sorry for not believing them.
Not that I’d have taken a pic to publicise such stuff, but it was very strange…
Every time I saw one of those stickers, when I looked again, it was gone!

I chanced across this account of a deliberate assault based on the threat of Covid-19 infection.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Florida woman whose image went viral when she coughed on a customer at a Pier 1 store last year in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
A judge in Jacksonville on Thursday also ordered Debra Hunter to pay a $500 fine, serve six months probation and participate in a mental health evaluation along with anger management, David Chapman, communications director for the state attorney’s office in Jacksonville, said in an email. She was also ordered to cover the costs of the victim’s Covid-19 test.

Like most such people, the video shows she was NOT making a momentary error, but was engaged in a considered series of actions which COULD have been halted and walked away from at any point, but was NOT!
Also, like most such people, she’s very sorry later, when called to account, and full of well thought out woe as regards how badly she and her family have been affected.
The unguarded face and attitude in the video tell you how serious that plea is – and that the reality is that what she’s really sorry about is being caught.
I’m not going to include more video (it’s part of the hearing online), but there is a statement made to the judge in the case by one of her neighbour’s, about how nice she is, caring, and helpful to those in her community, and has been so for many years.

Just enjoy the sight of an utter moron getting exactly what it asked for when it noised up the wrong police force.

I had to go out today.
I had to mix with normal people of all types – not always great, but I can do it and avoid jail time.
BUT…
I had to mix with Covidiots too – and that’s harder… a LOT harder.
Covidiot Dumbness
Although I don’t bother looking at the news these days – anything important arrives via my alert feeds – it was interesting to see that changes in the rules regarding Covid-19 and movement are set to change in a few days.
However, there’s still no change with respect to masks and face coverings.
I could waffle about this for ages, suffice to say that it’s hard to believe that there are anti-maskers/hoax/conspiracy theorists and just plain Covidiots out there who flatly refuse to comply with masks and face coverings.
For anyone with a brain and a few working brain cells left, it’s hard to find any sort of justification in this, or even logic, since the reasons they come up with for NOT covering up are so dumb you have to suspect they must have been taking stupid pills in order to come up with, or believe them.
And, even if you’re not fully on board with the pandemic, you might think that even the dumbest of the dumb would comply with something that might save their lives.
Anyway, I just want to add another covidiot gem to the collection.
Contraceptive Masks
Last year, I made the mistake of talking to a builder that knocked on my door.
Suffice to say that the stream of smooth talking and promises, followed by his opening gambit of low prices was actually very well done, and I found easy to understand how trusting people could be taken in – and find themselves being frog-marched to their bank, or a cash machine by the gang, after all the ‘extras’ has multiplied the final bill.
But, the main point of that encounter was the part of our ‘discussion’ which led into the Coronavirus.
This was not all that long after the first major lockdown, and Mr Cowboy Builder started to tell how the lockdown and restrictions were “A piece of nonsense” – despite his relatively local (as in UK) accent, it was like listening to a Trump supporter as he rubbished all the precautions – and, NO, he wasn’t wearing a mask (as I said, this was relatively early days), nor was any of his team.
Fast-forward about a year.
Recall a recent post I made about unwanted junk-mail and leaflet droppers, where I noted they tended to barge through my gate and jam it open, yet out postie, complete with mailbag and handfuls of mail can walk through it without a problem.
I’ve had to add a sign or two to my front door, making it abundantly CLEAR that I’m not interested in cold callers (and some others I mention specifically).
I think most are so affronted at my blunt dismissal, this actually works and they go away.
But a few still hammer on the door as if they are entitled to be seen, and some even start banging on windows if they don’t get an answer. If I do answer the door by then, I usually pick up a nice ball peen hammer, or chef’s knife from the kitchen, and they get to meet ‘Bad Mood Me’.
Yesterday, there was one such arrival at the front door.
It was the SAME cowboy builder as seen last year – actually reminding me who he was from last year, and already listing work he would do for ‘not much’.
Notable points.
I was too slow to see the registration, and couldn’t read it as they drove away – it was NOT a standard UK plate, I couldn’t see the country identifier in the blue section to the left, but it had two dashes separating three groups of characters. I couldn’t read them as they were just slightly smaller/narrower than our UK style.
I could do reams of boring writing after this – but I’ll use pictures instead.

The Idaho man faults himself for getting sick one week after the election, saying he bought into conspiracy theories about the coronavirus.
“Before I came down with the virus, I was one of those jackasses who thought the virus would disappear the day after the election. I was one of those conspiracy theorists. All these people that are saying that it’s fake, blah blah blah, they’re lying to themselves,” he said.
Prior to the election, then-President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter that “you won’t be hearing so much about” COVID-19 after November.
His son, Eric, had also claimed on Fox News that the coronavirus would “magically, all of a sudden go away and disappear and everyone will be able to reopen” after election day.
It’s a pity conspiracy theorists who spread and promote nonsense that ruins people’s lives are not held to account!
They’re no different from anyone who injures or kills someone, and deserve the same consequences for their actions.
If it was just Trump country and Trumpers, I wouldn’t care (but for the spreading issue mass denial causes), but this sort of stupid behaviour is worldwide thanks to conspiracy theorists promoting this ludicrous response.
I seldom go out unless I have to nowadays, and always choose times when ‘normal’ people are not around – being a lifelong antisocial suddenly has some advantages.
It looks as if few people have read and/or understood the guidance or reasons given for masks, what to do, and what they don’t do.
I see people in crowds, or busy areas without masks.
I see people walking completely alone in deserted areas, wearing masks.
I see people driving around, alone in their vehicles, wearing masks.
I see far too many people with masks hanging loose (since the loops have failed) and almost falling off, I see those who have them under their noses, and there seems to be a peculiar phenomenon witness in fat women, where the have the mask over their double chins, leaving their mouths and noses uncovered.
I wonder if many of them have even glanced at the studies?
I don’t know if the figures have been revised, but the last time I looked, masks really only prevent SPREADING the virus.
Effectiveness was then given as less than 25% at stopping the virus leaving an infected person or carrier.
And only around 5% at preventing someone from being infected.
Regardless of the exact figures…
Realise WHO is most likely to be affected when anti-maskers don’t wear mask.
Obviously NOT THEM!
Their supposed claims of health reasons (and I am NOT including genuinely affected people with doctor’s notes) to justify their refusal are all fantasies too, and probably deeply offensive to those genuinely affected by real medical conditions.

I liken them to triage – after hearing a doctor tell nurses to ignore the loudest crying out for help.
