Oh look – I found another hacker/scammer floundering in my Spam Bucket

After my recent discovery of a scammer’s blackmailing email in my Spam Bucket, I found an even more recent version of much the same pathetic effort floating in the same place.

I’m actually wondering if it’s one of Donald J Trump’s grifts, and a last desperate attempt to steal, sorry raise funds for his various legal appeals, since he’s been publicly outed for illegally scraping money for this from campaign funds sent by MAGATS. Even if it’s money parted from fools for campaign purposes, it’s STILL ILLEGAL to use it for anything else. Not that something being illegal would deter Trump in any way.

The wording is much the same as the vile threats and claims which have been pouring from his mouth at recent campaign gatherings, where his cult followers cheer him on.

Also, like Trump, nothing this hacker/scammer says actually has any substance – it’s all ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ that means nothing at all.

I think the best bit, common to both, is the assertion:

I never make any mistakes.

The WHOLE THING’S one huge mistake!

Once again, I’m happy to call this moron’s bluff, and publish their email in full.

Enjoy.

Hi there!

I am a hacker and I have successfully gained access to your operating system. I also have full access to your account. I’ve been watching you for a few months now.

The fact is that your computer has been infected with malware through an adult site that you visited.
If you are not familiar with this, I will explain.
Trojan virus gives me full access and control over a computer or other device.
This means that I can see everything on your screen, turn on the camera and microphone, but you do not know about it.
I also have access to all your contacts and all your correspondence.

Why did your antivirus not detect malware? The malware I used is driver based and I update its signatures every six hours. Hence your AV is unable to detect its presence.
I made a video showing how you satisfy yourself in the left half of the screen, and the right half shows the video you were watching at the time.

With one mouse click, I can send this video to all your emails and contacts on your social networks.
I can also make public all your email correspondence and chat history on the messengers that you use.

If you don’t want this to happen, transfer 665 USD in Bitcoin equivalent to my Bitcoin address (if you do not know how to do this, just search “buy bitcoin”).

My Bitcoin address is: 1GRSCYSLDe4kX97QobTz8UcZZRVBXi2ewB

After confirming your payment, I will delete the video immediately, and that’s it. You will never hear from me again.
I will give you 60 hours (more than two days) to pay. I will get a notice, when you open this email, and the timer will start.
Filing a complaint somewhere does not make sense because this email cannot be tracked like my Bitcoin address.

I never make any mistakes. If I find that you have shared this message with someone else, the video will be immediately distributed.

Best regards!

Sure, I believe you – HERE, TAKE MY MONEY

Every now and then I have a look at my Spam Folder. Sometimes, it’s interesting.

The main reason for this folly is to recover misdiagnosed Spam. While the provider’s spam detector does a pretty good job at recognising the rubbish, it does seem to get a little over enthusiastic at times, and dump anything, even legitimate email from trusted sources. As far as I can tell, these overprotective urges can be triggered if the email contains words that refer to sources that are often spoofed, or used by spammers to hide their real identity,

Definitely NOT in that category though, was this utter gem I found lurking there recently.

I don’t usually even bother looking at this nonsense, but this one caught my eye for a number of reasons.

First was the valiant effort to appear to be smart and clever, but failing as the writer is obviously not as mature as they try to portray. Not helped by the various mistakes made in the writing.

Then there’s the ‘veiled threats’, promises of what they could do if they don’t get their money. Such things just show you’re not serious. If being a Glaswegian taught me one thing, it’s that threats don’t work if they’re muted. If you want to scare the shit out of somebody, THEN DO IT!

Without picking on any of the examples in this email, if you want to make your threats credible, then don’t claim you have evidence of things that haven’t happened, or recordings made when it’s not even possible. Good luck threatening me with video of my criminal or embarrassing activities – the first things I do with a new computer are disable all the default camera and microphone shares, THEN tape over block both of them – not much better than a good physical barrier. Please, go ahead and record from them whenever you like.

I have this mental image of a kid working away on this in his bedroom, with his favourite sock beside him (you know the one, the soggy one), hurriedly hiding everything away when the shout comes from mom downstairs, “TIMMY, YOUR DINNER’S ON THE TABLE, GET DOWN HERE NOW!”

And finally…

IF this moron was genuine, is anybody naïve enough to believe that after all the effort he’s gone to harvesting the stuff listed, he’s REALLY going to DELETE IT and disappear?

Someone who states: “Trust me, I am very careful, calculative and never make mistakes.”

“Trust me”?

Is he mad?

Here’s his complete email, by cut and paste, so what you see is what he typed.

I’d love to his bank account (crypto wallet, whatever), and find out how many millions, or even billions, it contains.

I tried to get an AI generated funny pic of a stupid scammer/hacker, but for some unspecified reason, whenever I used those words the resulting pics were censored, and I couldn’t even look at them :(

So, I had to keep changing the words used in the description until something was eventually delivered – it’ll do for these idiots.

Hi,

I am a professional hacker and have successfully managed to hack your operating system.
Currently I have gained full access to your account.

In addition, I was secretly monitoring all your activities and watching you for several months.
The thing is your computer was infected with harmful spyware due to the fact that you had visited a website with porn content previously.
╭ ᑎ ╮

Let me explain to you what that entails. Thanks to Trojan viruses, I can gain complete access to your computer or any other device that you own.
It means that I can see absolutely everything in your screen and switch on the camera as well as microphone at any point of time without your permission.
In addition, I can also access and see your confidential information as well as your emails and chat messages.

You may be wondering why your antivirus cannot detect my malicious software.
Let me break it down for you: I am using harmful software that is driver-based,
which refreshes its signatures on 4-hourly basis, hence your antivirus is unable to detect it presence.

I have made a video compilation, which shows on the left side the scenes of you happily masturbating,
while on the right side it demonstrates the video you were watching at that moment..ᵔ.ᵔ

All I need is just to share this video to all email addresses and messenger contacts of people you are in communication with on your device or PC.
Furthermore, I can also make public all your emails and chat history.

I believe you would definitely want to avoid this from happening.
Here is what you need to do – transfer the Bitcoin equivalent of 540 United States Dollars to my Bitcoin account
(that is rather a simple process, which you can check out online in case if you don’t know how to do that).

Below is my bitcoin account information (Bitcoin wallet):
1G3RLzYbEai8bKe9TAHBdeuXhTy3sXwxYP

Once the required amount is transferred to my account, I will proceed with deleting all those videos and disappear from your life once and for all.
Kindly ensure you complete the abovementioned transfer within 50 hours (2 days +).
I will receive a notification right after you open this email, hence the countdown will start.

Trust me, I am very careful, calculative and never make mistakes.
If I discover that you shared this message with others, I will straight away proceed with making your private videos public.

Take care and have a good day.

This car park scene would NOT happen in America

I found this pic in my archive, taken I know not where after all the time that has passed.

The reason I grabbed the pic was down to something that had become a ‘Thing’ in America at the time – it may still be for all I know, but at least people are (apparently) no longer sharing pics and calling for violence against the car owner.

For a while, it became a ‘Thing’ to photograph cars not perfectly parked inside the lines marking a parking bay.

NOT just in cases such the UK example I captured here, where the word ‘abandoned’ would be slightly more accurate than ‘parked’, but all the way down to examples where it would take rulers and lasers to confirm that the edge of a car/vehicle was on, or over, a line.

Things in the good old US didn’t stop at pics though as there were not only the pics I mentioned, posted with calls for acts of violence against the driver concerned, but those incensed by what they saw as unacceptably sloppy parking would get hold of friends with massive 4×4 and trucks (including artics and trailers), and park them around the ‘offending’ vehicle to prevent it being driven away.

Others would park their trucks flush against the sides of the offender’s vehicle, making access to the doors impossible.

Those blocking vehicles would just be left there, while their owners settled down in another, and videoed the return of the driver to their inaccessible vehicle.

Others even pictured trucks pulled up against the supposed offender’s vehicle, with some pretty big guys (Rednecks?) sitting on that vehicle, presumably waiting for the owner to return.

I never see these now.

Either the photo/video hosts have banned them, or there has been actual violence with injuries, and that’s led to them being banned – I don’t know.

But it was getting out of hand, and I would not be the least surprised if someone had been beaten up or even shot over there as a result of escalating silliness.

In many cases, it was also clear that the car park was nowhere near fully occupied, so this really was more an issue of thugs and bullies in big vehicles finding someone to pick on rather than of fixing allegedly bad parking.

Looks like people DO get dealt with for being Covidiots

I chanced across this account of a deliberate assault based on the threat of Covid-19 infection.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Florida woman whose image went viral when she coughed on a customer at a Pier 1 store last year in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.

A judge in Jacksonville on Thursday also ordered Debra Hunter to pay a $500 fine, serve six months probation and participate in a mental health evaluation along with anger management, David Chapman, communications director for the state attorney’s office in Jacksonville, said in an email. She was also ordered to cover the costs of the victim’s Covid-19 test.

Florida woman who coughed on cancer patient gets 30 days in jail

Like most such people, the video shows she was NOT making a momentary error, but was engaged in a considered series of actions which COULD have been halted and walked away from at any point, but was NOT!

Also, like most such people, she’s very sorry later, when called to account, and full of well thought out woe as regards how badly she and her family have been affected.

The unguarded face and attitude in the video tell you how serious that plea is – and that the reality is that what she’s really sorry about is being caught.

I’m not going to include more video (it’s part of the hearing online), but there is a statement made to the judge in the case by one of her neighbour’s, about how nice she is, caring, and helpful to those in her community, and has been so for many years.

Electricity will kill you (but probably not this way)

This cartoon style warning for kids didn’t come with any details, but it’s probably a fair guess that it’s American and dates from the 1950s.

It’s a pity today’s rules and guidelines are more interested in not scary poor little babies, than saving their lives.

I suspect anyone publishing/circulating an image like this would get into more trouble than someone who left a live wire dangling where a kid could grab it.

Well, I like it.

And a healthy respect, with a dash of fear (just to keep me alert), has kept me just far enough away from every situation that might have killed me over years of working in electrical and electronic engineering.

That and vague memories (and many storied) of people dancing around, or being thrown around rooms, while working on ‘hot chassis’ equipment in the days of valves – something I’m really glad I missed.

Python used to threaten police officers in Edinburgh

Snake headWhen I wrote this post only for interest as an unusual occurrence: Python used as weapon in street attack, I never imagined I would be repeating the exercise. But, almost a year and a half later, a similar event has taken place in Scotland. In that case, gang members used a snake as a weapon when they used a 4 foot (1.2 m) python to attack a 14-year-old boy, who was pinned to the floor as one gang member forced the green python to attack, and bite the teenager’s arm.

In this case, police were threatened with a baby python while questioning an Edinburgh man in his home, regarding noise.

He wrapped the snake around his neck, and waved the snake in the officer’s faces, after which he was arrested and jailed while continuing to shout and swear.

He has since appeared in court, where sentence was deferred pending background reports – the man’s defence agent stated his client had previously served with the Armed Forces, and had mental difficulties, for which he was currently receiving help.

Constrictor

You have to believe that the snake’s owner does indeed have some sort of mental problem, having chosen to wrap a python, even a ‘baby’ around his neck. They may not be venomous, but that does not mean they are not dangerous, especially to children.

Pythons are constrictors, and kill their prey by a process known as constriction. After they grasped their victim to restrain it, they will quickly form a number of coils around it. By applying and maintaining sufficient pressure to prevent it from inhaling, the allow it only to exhale or relax its muscles. This means it can never draw breath, and eventually succumbs due to asphyxiation.

Python used as weapon in street attack

Snake headWhile it’s a little of our beaten track, it qualifies as being on a current theme, coming only days after the report of a pet python killing and eating a family’s pet cat- see Justice for Wilbur, posted only a couple of days ago.

In the sort of story that makes you wonder what sort of rubbish you might be sharing the streets with, the BBC reports that gang members used a snake as a weapon when they attacked a 14-year-old boy with a 4 foot (1.2 m) python, and forced the reptile to bite the teenager’s arm. The boy was pinned to the floor on Saturday afternoon, as one gang member forced the green python to attack.

Police suspect the attack, in Bradley Stoke, South Gloucestershire, may have had a racist element, and officers are appealing for witnesses. Two boys, one aged 16 and the other 17, are being questioned.

Unknown danger

With the benefit of hindsight, it’s clear that the snake didn’t present a major danger to the boy being attacked, however the terror which the victim would have experienced can only be imagined, as the forced bite of a large venomous snake could easily inject a fatal dose of venom at worst, and an extremely painful wound and series of lasting side-effects at best. Without the correct anti-venom being administered in time, the effects may be irreversible, and even with treatment, the ensuing symptoms are less than pleasant for the victim, and there is no guarantee of effectiveness.

The attackers would be unlikely to have had the knowledge or intelligence to know what type of snake they had (presumably stolen), unless it was labelled, and the attack is really little short of attempted murder.

However, they will probably get little more than a slap on the wrist.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: “The teenager had been subject to racist comments and was then reportedly held down as a snake was held in front of him, which bit his right arm. The boy was taken to Frenchay Hospital with breathing problems, where he was treated for the injury to his arm.”

The injury was reported as two puncture wounds to the right arm, while the breathing difficulties were attributed to panic as a result of the attack.

The case is new, and police in the area have appealed for witnesses and information.

We’ll see if it gets reported further, and I’ll try and remember to have a look around the area in the coming weeks and months, to see f the attackers are brought to account, or if the case falls into the “No further action” category, since there was no “real” harm done.

Warning issued to ferry troublemakers

In the face if increasing instances of threats issued to passengers and crew by an element intent on making the best of a captive audience to inflict their anti-social behaviour upon, ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne has  called in the Marine Policing Unit of Strathclyde Police to look into the matter, affecting the service between Wemyss Bay and Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.

With the support of the island’s Ferry User Group, the carrier has noted that while it is a Lifeline Service Operator, and has a duty to ensure that people’s right to be transported is upheld, their Conditions of Carriage will also be adhered to, and those who cause trouble will not be carried. Dossiers and records will be kept to identify repeat offenders and abusers of the service, and the services of the police employed as necessary to ensure the comfort and safety of staff, pier staff, crew and passengers.
